The Essenes, A Renaissance
If you study the history of spirituality and religion-and please never confuse the two-you will find a history of persecution. Religion by definition is a closed body of knowledge which seeks followers and adherents, spirituality is continuously evolving. However, the spirituality we subscribe to contains universal truths.
Olivier Manitara puts the first member of the Essene tradition as Enoch, who lived more than 30,000 years ago. According to Manitara, the tradition continued with people from Atlantis, Noah, Rama, certain ancient Pharaohs, Krishna, Fo Hi, Zoroaster, Thoth, Abraham, Akhenaton, Moses, Orpheus, Elijah, Numa, Buddha, Lao Tse, Pythagoras, Plato, John the Baptist, Jesus, St. John, Mary, Mary Magdelene, Mani, Mohammed, Padmasambhava, the Bogomils, The Templars, the Cathars, Christian Rosenkreutz, Peter Deunov, O. According the soul that is now in spirit, Princess Diana, she and Anne Stewart were Essenes.
The very nature of these people, who were most active around the time of Christ, gentle, caring, intelligent and insightful made them perfect healers and prophets, but of course, because they did not conform to the doctrine of the Roman Catholic church, perfect targets for slaughter. The Cathars of the 12/13th century who were very similar to the Essenes, also suffered the same fate.
That’s the bad news.
The fabulous news is that their teachings have survived, and many of them pledged to come back to earth at this time, 2000+ years later. Their ways, their practices, their skills and their lives offer a blueprint for the world without fear, poverty, persecution and division.
